The Story Behind My Homemade Hair Styling Gel

I started my natural hair journey in 2012 after being inspired by a co-worker who arrived one morning looking fabulous with her natural curls. I waited 2 years to grow out my relaxed hair, so I could proceed with the big chop.  I’ll be honest, I was a bit scared of the transition because I've gotten hair relaxers since I was 8 years old.  My co-worker introduced me to a friend of hers, a remote natural hair care specialist, who was on her natural hair journey for many years.  She washed, conditioned, and cut my hair while providing me with samples of the best products that fit my curl type, which is 3c-4b.  I never felt so liberated once I looked into the mirror and saw my natural hair.  I joined the natural hair community through websites like NaturallyCurly.com and CurlyNikki Forums. I searched YouTube videos to watch other people's hair care journey experience, learning how to take care of my curls, and even how to cut my curls as well.  I wanted to share what I've learned with other people going through the transition and maintaining healthy growing hair by sharing a product I created for myself that helped me maintain healthy growing hair.
